Terms of Use
The licence
Fly My Route is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
That agreement is the one that governs your use of the app. The rest of this page explains how it applies to Fly My Route, and what you should know about subscriptions, your films and the map. The app is made by me, Oktay Kurt, an individual developer (hello@flymyroute.com).
Nothing on this page takes away any right the consumer law of your country gives you.
Fly My Route Pro
- Making and sharing films is free, in every map look. Pro adds the Cinematic and Bird's-eye cameras, 45-second films, the whole wardrobe and films without the "made with Fly My Route" line.
- Pro is sold as two auto-renewing subscriptions, Pro Yearly and Pro Weekly. The yearly plan has a 3-day free trial for people who have not had it before. The price in your currency is shown in the app before you buy.
- Apple takes the payment through your Apple Account when you confirm, or when the free trial ends. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account's subscription settings, or from the app: Settings › Manage Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays until the end of the period you paid for.
- Apple handles refunds, under its own terms: https://reportaproblem.apple.com
- If you change iPhones, Restore Purchases on the Pro screen or in Settings brings Pro back.
- I'll only ever charge for what the film does (its cameras, length, wardrobe and brand line), never for the map.
Your films
- Your films are yours to keep and to share on your own accounts.
- The map in every film comes from Apple Maps and belongs to Apple and its data providers. Each film keeps the Apple Maps logo and "Legal" mark in its corner: please don't crop, cover or remove them, don't sell films or use them in advertising, and don't use the films to copy or rebuild Apple's map data.
- The avatar, its clothes, animations and the film's design are part of the app and remain mine or my licensors'. Using them in your own films, and sharing those films, is what they are for.
- You are responsible for what you type into a film (its title and subtitle) and for where you share it. Don't put anything unlawful or anyone else's private information in a film.
- Hiding the start and end of your route (on by default for your own activities) keeps where you live off the map, but check a film before you share it.
Your account and backup
- The app makes an account for you without your name, so your subscription and, if you want it, your backup can follow you. Signing in with Apple is optional and only needed for backup.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings › Account › Delete account. Deleting it does not cancel a subscription; Apple bills that.
- Backup is a convenience, not an archive: keep your own copies of the files you care about.
The service
- Making a film needs an internet connection, for the map. The photo-real 3D city exists only where Apple offers it; elsewhere the Real look shows satellite imagery and terrain, and the Day and Night looks work everywhere.
- Films are drawn on your iPhone, frame by frame. A film takes a few minutes and needs the app to stay open.
- I work to keep the app running well, but Apple's map service and the other services the app relies on are outside my control, and features may change over time.
